This is for a much faster, cheaper, and easier method of order processing. One such example of a company that relies on the automation of order processing is the Pepsi Bottling Group, which has customers all around the world ranging from schools to large retail chains. Process improvement has always been the focus of this company and through the automation of most of their systems; the company saves time and a lot of capital. Previously, the company was not getting the quality they needed from the manual process, which meant they were not fulfilling their organizational goals. The automation process brought with it good tidings as it is now possible to reduce the labor, and automatically the capital spent on other operations (AnyDoc, 2013).
The order submission process involves acquiring over 15 million invoices annually, and 75% of these are done automatically. The remaining 15% is done manually because they require interactions between customers and members of the organization. Processing has now been reduced to a single day down from six days, thanks to the automation of the systems in place. The data can also be counted on as it is more accurate than when the process is done manually (AnyDoc, 2013). Companies can use this automation process to aid in their supply chain strategy by having their customers and their specifications in an organized manner. This may improve the quality of their service provision and prove to be a time saving element in their operations. This aids in the growth and development of the company.
