Marketing Management – Sales Representative ID Lecturer The sales representative is the person responsible for the sales call since sales is just about everything when one understands the dictum of business and specifically marketing. This sales representative represents the organization in meticulous and showcases as well as sells the product under question. The sales representative’s job nature is variable as some of them need to travel far and wide while others sit at one place and do their job. They are the actual points of contact between their business and the business that they are seeking to buy or sell. In other words, they can make or break a deal by their roles and responsibilities. Some of these sales representatives work on leads alone, which mean that they contact those businesses which call them up or show some form of interest. Other sales representatives use a number of other methodologies which could include the cold calling – visiting a potential buyer at his place of business or even his residence so that a deal could be made towards buying the product and/or service (Kotler & Keller 2010). His position is such that he must have product knowledge beforehand so that he can satisfy his client or customer with regards to the product or service that is being offered or sold. They need to have sales tactics under their belt so that success could kiss their feet in an amiable way. There are special offers which can be provided by the sales representatives so that they can win accounts or have the sales deed made quickly.
